Andrea Pfister was an Italian fashion designer. Born in Pesaro in 1942, after spending his childhood in Switzerland, he studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris. In 1964 he began designing shoe collections for Jean Patou and Lavin and the following year he signed his first collection. He created shoes worn by actresses such as Ursula Andress, Claudia Cardinale, Jaqueline Bisset, Valentina Cortese, and singers such as Cher, Madonna, Liza Minelli. In the conception of this designer, the foot is the initial part of the human body, rather than its terminal part: for this reason, his footwear becomes a central element and not an accessory.
He passed away in January 2018 after a long illness.
