Kenzō Takada, born in Himeji in 1939, enrolled in Tokyo fashion school in 1958, where men were just admitted. He landed in Paris in 1965, and after only five years he opened his first boutique. Traditional Japanese shapes, materials and designs blend harmoniously with European style, thanks to an eclectic synergy. In 1999 Kenzō announced his farewell to fashion, to direct his life in new directions, leaving his legacy to the LVMH group. He died in Paris in October 2020 following complications from Covid 19.
