The museum rooms host approximately 1,350 models of women’s footwear produced by the Rossimoda shoe factory in collaboration with the most prestigious fashion houses in the world.
The collection extends between the ground floor and the first floor of the manor house, occupying approximately 700 square meters and involving about twenty different brands.
Exhibition criteria
The exhibition highlights the contribution of individual fashion houses to the evolution of costumes in each period, which corresponds to the duration of the contract with our manufacture, while highlighting the ability of the Riviera del Brenta craftsmen to satisfy very different needs even in the same season.
The geographical origin of the brand is also considered, exhibiting on the ground floor the collaborations with English, American and German fashion houses (the so-called “Nordics”), while on the first floor there are the contributions of the French, Italians and Spanish (called “Mediterraneans”), underlining how their territorial origin influences the greater propensity towards functional and practical aspects rather than aesthetic ones.

The collection was assorted over time by Luigino Rossi during his countless business trips.
This first room welcomes guests and prepares them for the visit.
The historical heritage recalls the prestigious origins of the activity of our district, where skilled craftsmen worked for the Venetian nobles, demanding clients, accustomed to travel and willing to spend, who stimulated our workers to an increasingly sophisticated production, which still today allows them to stand out and be competitive throughout the world.
Ethnic footwear, divided by continent, instead makes us reflect on how footwear has represented in every civilization, more than an accessory with which to protect oneself, a language with which to show oneself to the world.
