THE VILLA FOSCARINI ROSSI FOOTWEAR MUSEUM HOSTS ADA DA SILVA FOR AN ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

We are pleased to welcome Ada da Silva @ada_da_silva as Villa Foscarini Rossi’s first Artist-in-Residence.

For centuries, the villas of the Brenta Riviera have been centers of art, culture, craftsmanship, and creativity. Today, we are proud to carry on this tradition by welcoming an artist whose work is deeply inspired by the spirit of sailing: the freedom of the sea, the wind in the sails, and the journeys that bring people, places, and stories together.

During her residency, Ada will immerse herself in the history, architecture, and collections of Villa Foscarini Rossi and the Footwear Museum, creating a new series of works inspired by the villa, the Brenta Riviera, and the dialogue between art, fashion, craftsmanship, and design.

The Rossi family’s legacy is a story of creativity and innovation. Through Rossimoda, the family has collaborated with some of the most prestigious international fashion houses and with Porsche Design, creating an iconic footwear collection. The family’s art collection also included some of the earliest works dedicated to shoes created by Andy Warhol, symbolizing the connection between contemporary art and fashion.

Ada’s artistic career has also been marked by collaborations with prestigious automotive brands, including Ferrari and Rolls-Royce, creating a natural dialogue with the Villa’s legacy.

We are honored to accompany Ada on this artistic journey, and we look forward to welcoming her backon September 11 for a special opening reception at the Footwear Museum, during which the works she created during her residency will be presented for the first time.

Welcome to Villa Foscarini Rossi, Ada. We’re happy to have you as part of our story.
