ADA DA SILVA CONCLUDES HER ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM AT VILLA FOSCARINI ROSSI & THE SHOE MUSEUM

ALADAS — A new solo exhibition exploring movement, form, and beauty through water and sails

Artist Ada Da Silva has completed the inaugural artist residency at Villa Foscarini Rossi & Museo della Calzatura, marking the start of the Villa’s new residency program in the heart of the Brenta Riviera.
Immersed in the history of the Rossi family and the legacy of Rossimoda’s Italian craftsmanship, Da Silva drew inspiration from the museum’s extraordinary footwear archive. Rossimoda has collaborated with 21 international brands, including Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Fendi, and Porsche Design. The Porsche Design collection, born from the collaboration between Luigino Rossi and Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, was particularly significant for
Da Silva, connecting her passion for luxury automotive design with the worlds of fashion, design, and fine craftsmanship.
The residency culminates in ALADAS, a new solo exhibition staged within the historic halls of Villa Foscarini Rossi. Inspired by the river, Venetian architecture, sails, movement, and the museum’s archives, the exhibition explores form, dynamism, and beauty through the language of water and sails.

The exhibition will be open to the public on September 11, 12 and 13, 2026, during the museum’s regular hours and at standard admission rates, before heading to Venice on the 14th for the Biennale.

THE ARTIST:
Ada Da Silva is a modernist sculptor of Cuban origin based in Miami. Working primarily in bronze, her works reflect a perfect fusion of strength and vulnerability, symbolized by her mastery of bronze itself—a material that represents both the permanence and the fluidity of life’s moments.
The artist is now expanding her practice to include works on paper, exploring movement, gesture, and form through a more immediate and fluid medium. Her multidisciplinary practice has also led her to collaborate with brands such as Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, and Formula E, reflecting an ongoing dialogue with the worlds of luxury, automotive design, and performance. Her sculptures are exhibited in museums across Europe and the United States, integrated into luxury spaces through partnerships with high-end hotels, and held in private collections around the world.
